When you go through Start here, you earn 21 sats — real Bitcoin. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what you get, where the money goes, and why it's all above-board. No jargon.

What you're getting

Three things, and they're all yours: a Nostr identity (a key no company owns), a wallet, and 21 sats of Bitcoin. Twenty-one sats is about a cent — this isn't a payment or an investment, it's a first taste. The point isn't the amount; it's that for the first time you hold Bitcoin yourself.

Where do the sats go? (the important part)

Straight to you. When you pass the quiz, the 21 sats are handed to your browser as a Cashu token — a bearer piece of Bitcoin that only whoever holds it can spend. Goosie Labs never holds a balance for you. We don't run an account you log into, we can't freeze it, and we can't take it back. The moment you earn it, it's yours to keep, spend, or move anywhere.

This is what "non-custodial" means: you are the custodian of your own money, not us. It's the whole idea behind Bitcoin — value you hold without asking anyone's permission. (Honest detail: the token is backed by our Cashu mint, mint.goosielabs.com — but the token itself is in your hands, not an account we control.)

Why give Bitcoin away at all?

Because reading about Bitcoin and holding it are completely different. The 21 sats let you feel it: you now own internet money that no bank issued and no government controls. That "aha" is worth far more than a cent.

Is this legal?

Yes, and we thought about it carefully. The plain version:

• It's a tiny educational gift — nothing is sold, nothing is promised, and the whole welcome pool is capped at about one euro.
• We hold nothing. Because the sats go straight to you (non-custodial), Goosie Labs never acts as a custodian or a financial service — the line that matters under EU rules (MiCA) is holding crypto for other people, and we don't.
• It's non-commercial — Goosie Labs is a learning-by-doing lab, not a business selling crypto.

The honest bit

This page is for understanding, not legal or financial advice. Bitcoin's value moves, and self-custody means you are responsible for your key and your token — save them; lose them, lose the sats.
